Here ya go. I made 4 for you. I actually found one I haven't fixed yet. That will be the fourth one. The question now is, was this always a problem that didn't show up until permissions were reset or does it have something to do with the way my system is set up.

uuuhhhhmmm!  I hope this helps you out Shane. By the way I'm sure I've told you before, but you have great programs and sure go out of your way to help people. I try to point people to you for problems they may have, (that could be good and bad).

Let me Know how it goes for the program.

Shane:
Looks like it is a bug in your system.

The reset file permissions repair is what set the permissions the way you seen them. I just ran it on my system, rebooted and I have no sharing icons.

It seems that your windows when it sees permissions that are not inherited thinks the file/folder must be shared and puts the sharing icon on it. And you will notice every file on your system has these non inherited permissions now but it is ONLY the files/folders in your profile showing the icon. Very strange indeed!

So for now to remove those icons we just need to remove the non inherited permissions from your profile folder.

So we can do that easily. Go to the root of your profile folder. "C\Users\Chris"
Edit the advanced security on it. Remove the non inherited permissions and at the bottom put a check on the apply to all child objects. This will do it to every file under that folder. That should get these icons cleared up :-)

Let me know that works and I will sticky this for other users who have this bug.

I manually fixed most last night, but it looks like the fix you found works (at least it did for the rest). I wonder what is set differently in my machine to cause this?

I will change the title of this topic and sticky it for people who have the same problem

Do me a fav and verify that not other folders have the share icon on the system. Check that they have the permissions from the repair yet no share icon. I find it odd it only affect your profile folderdds and files and nothing else. Wonder if it has to do with something related to the profile itself?

The Public, UpdatusUser and UpdatusUser.Chris-Pc folders have it.
