External disk failure ?!

Sounds like it is the chip board in the HD it self that is going out.
Here is what an inside of a HD looks like. All your data is on those platters, the arm you see on them is controlled by a chip board. The click of death is when that board or arm fails. You data is there but you will never get to it.
There are data recovery places that charge $1,000's to get your data. They open the drive in a dust proof room and put in a new are and chip and try to get the data. No easy task.

When hardware goes there is very little that you can do. This is why I always have my backups on 2 external drives plus on my system. The more copies of your data you have the less of a chance of losing it all.

Thank you for more information, but everything we have is expensive!And I wonder if I can buy external drives on the Internet and other computer accessories and whether the prices of these things on the Internet are cheaper than those things that we have in our markets? lol :artist:

Things are normally cheaper online because there are less people involved that have to be paid lol
