This is called symbolic links.

We find which key has the symbolic link causing the problem then we can remove that link so the infinite loop stops.

Hi Shane the CCleaner Registry Cleaner, computer soo slow, and it came up with Framework 1 as alot of errors, deleted these (like a idot, i could of sent a screen shot, if it had helped). If you like i can do a system restore and catch these again?

Strange some of the XP updates had Framework.

Thanks again

What I need is to find a tool that list the symbolic links on a system. Then I could have those spots be skipped in the permissions repair :-)

Hi Shane is it ok to back to the older versions 1.9.4 or 1.9.3, the XP computer isn't happy.

I tried to save a Word document a error saying couldn’t save due to a file permission error popped up. I retried and it worked again, but ocassionally it still does it.

I have attached a CCleaner (the registry) portion if this helps?

Thanks again

That sounds like it may be your Antivirus scanning the file before it lets you save it. I have had it happen on a few customers computers. If you disable the antivirus do you still have the error?

Hi Shane thank you.

1. I have just run the updated version (1.9.6) through the XP machine and it made it past the permissions problem (earlier in this thread), although later it went ibto standby, so i pushed the power button and the program continued with no problems.

2. When the saving error permission happened again after that post i retried and it saved ok, haven't had a problem since.

3. Is it ok to run the 1.9.6 version through on the Vista machine as you have fixed the pending Windows update problem?

4. Once again (excellent) running the Repair through the XP machine has made it faster and smoother, though the repair doesn't normally do this.

Thanks again

Thanks again
