1 Programs & Site Help & Support / Re: 1909 version ETA?

Ok I missed that thread, it was created 1-2 days later than this one. Not really a problem. I had a file/folders permissions issue, caused by a 3rd-party backup/restore program. It often messes things up when restoring files previously contained in the AppData folder.

I'm still not sure what happens (permissions-wise) when backing things up from that folder and putting them back in a new Windows installation (even on the same W10 version). Anyway, it's solved now so I can happily wait for the next WR version.

I'm not sure how anyone is getting 1909
It's coming gradually to all users. If automatic or manual 'check for updates' does not fetch it, Microsoft already provides it with the Media Creation Tool. It's the 1909 version.

Using the portable version. I see no 10_1909 folder inside the regfiles folder. They stop at 10_1903. I re-downloaded the portable version just in case. To be honest, I didn't try to use the program after that error message. Perhaps it works? I chose not to take any chances.

ETA in the title - it's a relaxed question about whether to expect Windows Repair for 1909 in a week, a month, 4 months... even just a hint. 4.6.1 does not work, as you know.

Already got into some -minor- trouble (yes, I know... ) and would rather perform some Tweaking magic.

Hello everyone, I wanted to ask if Windows Repair detects the current status of the offered tweaks. From a quick test, it seems it doesn't.

For example, I've already applied with Windows Repair (v4 Pro) the Search Indexer tweak. I then closed WR, manually started and enabled the Windows Search service and reopened WR which still reports that tweak as enabled (=service disabled, which it wasn't any more).

If this is the case, it'd be really helpful if WR could detect the status every time it opens (an optional warning/notification might help even more) so we could know if tweaks have been reverted (including the F8 Boot menu tweak), after a Windows update for example or by some other program.

It seems Microsoft has removed this feature from Windows 10? The "Guest account" is still being reported as present, but it seems unavailable for actual usage. There are a few hacks and workarounds out there but I'm not sure how reliable they are.

Technicians Toolbox allows me to 'enable' the Guest account but there's no Guest account to log in to.

Something I forgot to mention: in Pro Features/System Tweaks, a question mark next to each tweak, instantly pops up a window with all relevant information. My suggestion is to use a similar info system for the repairs, too. It works well and fast.

In the Repairs section, switching back and forth between Repairs/Repair Info tabs and finding/targeting the required info in the narrow (and sort of unfriendly) drop-down menu can get a bit annoying and time-consuming.

Hello everyone and congrats to Shane for his wonderful work.

Windows Repair: an interesting tweak to add, instantly saving some hard disk space and possibly making shutdown a bit faster: Specify Hiberfile Type (full/reduced)

Technicians Toolbox: the ability to add folders to "Delete... locked files at Bootup" (adding files only can be painful when there are several files/subfolders) - also, perhaps a more advanced network monitor with grouped processes and upload/download speed for each process.

Also, would it be possible to add shortcuts for the various tools, so we can open them directly (via Start Menu, for example).

Keep up the great work!
