General Computer Support / Re: Reparse Errors
« on: August 13, 2015, 10:49:04 am »
There are 2 more threads on page 1 and 2 of this forum that address this issue. Shane is working on an update v3.4.2 that FIXES this issue. Just be patient until he releases the v3.4.2 update.

There is another thread in the forum about the Reparse Points problem. I should have read all of it first. Shane is working on v3.4.2 and has a link to a "test version", which I did download and try out, and it FIXES this problem. I would recommend, however, to wait until Shane releases his v3.4.2 update before tinkering with the test version, unless you are absolutely sure you know what you are doing.

Sorry, Shane  ...

I failed to mention that the "Repair" does not fix these errors and also a log file is not generated.

General Computer Support / Reparse Points Problem in new v3.4.1

Hello Shane !

I just installed new v3.4.1 and these Reparse Point Errors started showing up. Everything was fine yesterday using v3.4.0.

I see some talk on the forum about you fixing a few lines of code, but don't know if that would apply to my issue. All I know is v3.4.0 showed

NO errors and 3.4.1 does. I am attaching 2 screen shots FYI. These show file paths which do not exist  ???????

Need your expert help

Thanks,

Bill Melton

OK guys, THANKS for all the tips and help, but I decided to reformat and I'm re-installing programs now. The Windows Photo Gallery that was doing the same before as All-In-One is now working fine. I think whoever originally installed the OS at Lenovo corrupted the registry.

I'll be back to report my progress.

Thanks,

Bill

Thanks for the reply and the tips, Shane, but now I'm a bit confused.

You say to check the Task Manager and see if it is running  .... do you mean the Task Manager running or the All-In-One program running  ??

And you lost me completely on the DEP  ... can you "enlighten" me about this DEP ?

I will go look into these tips and I will reply back ASAP.

Thanks,

Bill

What I mean is ANY version of "Windows Repair (All-In-One)" ABOVE v2.0.1 will not OPEN.

I will try the "Windows Repair" only and see what happens.

I'll be back tomorrow with my findings.

Thanks,

Bill

I have been an XP Pro user for 10 years, using the All-In-One flawlessly since it's creation. I recently upgraded to a new PC with Windows 7 PRO. The problem is that NONE of the All-In-One versions ABOVE 2.0.1 will run on this PC. If it were XP, I could probably figure it out, but I am not yet familiar enough with Win7's "workings" to do so. There is also one other set of apps, CyberLinks' PhotoDirector 3, 4, and 5 that also will not run on this PC, and even the Windows Photo Gallery will not run in Win7 mode, only Vista and below. The reg & file permissions fixes on All-In-One v2.0.1 don't fix this. This is above my "pay grade". I rarely post in forums but I need EXPERT help on this.
Any advice will be GREATLY APPRECIATED. I am attaching a DxDiag.txt log file so you can see my PC specs.

Many Thanks,

Bill
