Windows hangs when shutting down
« on: September 24, 2013, 09:09:28 am »
hello

when I shut down windows 7 it sometimes stays on logging off for a long time (5mins or more) and I usually just push power button off.

In addition, every so often the internet connection will not connect and I have to reboot the computer and the above usually happens.  I know its not my provider because my laptop is connected at the same time

any help is greatly appreciated

take care

Most of the time any problems with Windows shutting down are driver related.

This is because Windows is closing down the drivers, but when a driver doesn't respond or hangs Windows will never shut down.

So the first thing to do is to make sure you have the newest drivers installed, start with network drivers, sound, video and chip set and go from there
