MSVCR80.dll
« on: January 10, 2016, 10:16:46 am »
Yesterday I tried to use an application I recently downloaded (called Simple TV Pro), I got the error message:
'The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.'
So I used Windows Repair TWICE, but that didn't solve the problem. I went looking for solutions online, but nothing I found there seem to address my particular situation.

Please help.

I'm attaching the systeminfo output.

You could use a program like IObit Uninstaller to uninstall Simple TV Pro and then reinstall it, but when downloading IObit look out for any check boxes that will include Advanced System Care in the download, or anything else - if you still end up with ASC, you can uninstall it using IObit Uninstaller.

MSVCR80.dll is included in Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable which you probably already have installed, but you could try downloading them again to see if that resolves the missing error.

There are two - one for 32bit applications and one for 64bit applications.

Glad to see you have sorted it, but was it the reinstallation of Simple TV Pro or the Visual C++ that did it ?
