I was hoping someone here could assist in getting me the below two manifest that are reported by Checksur.exe in MS Windows 7

   winsxs\manifests\x86_microsoft-windows-i..c.0.7601.18472_none_1e67abd67749b4e0.manifest

Hi, Normally these relate to failed window update files that this tool could not capture.
check whether all the window updates are successfully updated. If any failed update is found, and necessary, please download it either thro selecting those updates and try to install it online. Otherwise, pl download the same offline, by going to windows update dialogue. The link is here
http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Thanks.aspx?id=140
pl browse thro internet explorer. Just paste the manifest file in the search box.
If it fails then it is safe to download the same file from another computer, having the same OS version and in to the same directory to your computer and re run the tool whether it has been fixed.
The Bottom line is "Check your hardware first if it supports the task you try".

Hi, Julian,
How to find these manifest files in that winsxs folder. I tried but there is no extension shown. There are so many files that one should know how to decipher ..Is it?

Hi, Julian,
You are doing a marathon task of locating the manifest files from the winsxs folder , manifest. Hats off to you for your sincere effort. It is not easy. I have seen threads about your helpful link in this forum quoted in sevenforums.
The try to locate those files in COMPONENT, in HKLM is not that easy as mostly this folder is not default present in the registry in the said folder. You have to load the module. But, how to get those files without manifest extension is also a cumbersome and tedious process.
In a nutshell, i find manifest are xml designed to operate windows and third party window operations, like dll in xp version. It is improvised method of avoiding dll missing from so many suspicious sites. But locating the same is a very difficult task, as these files have to be located machine specific, version specific.  Thanks . I find manifest files attachments in some of your help posts
The Bottom line is "Check your hardware first if it supports the task you try".
