Windows 7
« on: November 01, 2016, 04:54:18 pm »
Why does my registered version Tweaking.com - Windows Repair Pro 3.9.15
Using Admit rights starting your program in Safe Mode Windows 7 show as
the Free version and not the registered Pro version?

Sincerely,

Gary (email address removed by Moderator)

Shane per your email I think I solved the problem.
your email.
Hi :-)

Can you tell me the problem you are having with the program going pro? How I wrote it is you have to be online at least once with it so that it can verify the key, after that it doesnt check again for a few days and should stay pro.

OK when I run Windows 7 normal mode it is and stays in the Pro version.

So if it goes pro in normal windows it should go pro in safe mode as well. Also are you doing safe mode with networking or just normal safe mode?

NOW when I boot in Safe Mode with Networking it changes from Pro version to Free version, I am using a data modem in
my truck and in the safe mode with networking it does not connect to the internet.

I am guessing your software has to connect to the internet to verity Pro or Free version, and since it can't it go's in the free
software mode correct?

Your welcome and thank you for all your help as well.

Sadly my data modem in my truck will only allow me to receive emails from charter not send emails.

I sent Shane an email from my other email address aim

Again thank you,

Gary

You're welcome.

If you go to your opening post and click on Modify, you can add [SOLVED] to the thread title if you're happy.

Tom.

NO it is not solved and NO I am not happy Tom,

When you buy a computer software program, install it and registered it, the program SHOULD stay registered no matter what mode
your running in Windows or using admin rights or not. OTHERWISE there is no point buying the software program.

I do not want my money back. I want this fixed and there is no reason why it can't be fixed because my registration information is
stored in a file in the program directory which the program exe file can READ see my registration and run in the PRO version,
it should not need internet access to check if I am a registered user.

Windows goes online to check that you are using a genuine copy - so why not Shane's program ?

When you boot up into Safe Mode with Networking in Win 8.# or 10 you need to wire up for Internet connectivity as wireless is disabled.

If you hadn't done that, then the program would not have been able to validate itself in that mode.

I have a laptop Windows 7 in my truck with a USB Verizon data modem it is not hard wired or wireless
it works perfectly in Windows normal mode only.

WHAT is the point of having the registration information stored in this file "settings.ini" in the program
directory if the software has to ALSO go on line to see if I am a registered user!

AS for Windows 7 it works perfectly fine in safe mode with networking and not being able to connect
to the internet, I use system restore all the time which would not work if my copy of Windows 7 was
not genuine.

I paid $22.00 dollars for this version of Pro with when version 4 comes out I get it for free, hopefully
at some point Shane decides to address this.

All and all I am very dis-appointed, had I known this would happen I never would have bought the
software.

This is my last email message comment.
