strange file

Hello everyone I have a weird file that suddenly appeared on my desktop two days ago. It reads "This directory is here to protect you. Simply leave it here." Has anyone seen a file like this and should I delete it? Dell inspiron 15 windows 10 64 bit. I found this file under hidden files but don't know exactly what to do. Ran Malwarebytes and rougekiller and both were clean. Thanks in advance for any help on this...

I don't know what it is and I wouldn't advise opening it.

Use your restore points to go back to before it appeared and when you select one, click on Scan for affected programs to see what it finds.

Thank you I had already opened this folder when it first  appeared and it is empty. Also ran scan for affected programs from restore point and it found nothing.

Can you right click on it and select Properties to see if it says what it is ?
