It isn't something I'm familiar with as I don't have a mobile phone of any description.

However, on researching this, Win 10 doesn't support .heic files yet, although this is in the pipeline.

This article though gives some suggestions in how you can convert them until they are fully supported.

as the post suggests,  converting to jpg seems the only way  I doubt the quality would be worse than orginal

Let us know the outcome about the quality, but as things stand, the options seem to be limited.

There's no update regarding .heic file support in any version of Windows yet. But you can definitely convert images online or even in the phone through some apps. But there might be some quality degradation.

Some of the images were blurred a little bit

Well hopefully MS will get their finger out and support these file types in a later release.

Have you read this link? I don't run W10, but there is a suggestion that Windows 10 can open heic files with a little jiggery-pokery!

I don't like the second idea of uploading files to be converted but the first one looks useful as it stays within Windows.

Hi op ,these files are HEIC format ,you'll never open them on the computer, only JPG file format can do this on computer.
Follow this program and view them on your computer: https://www.tunesbro.com/view-heic-file-on-pc-mac.html
