My repair tool uses a lot of API's and commands that are in xp, 2003 and newer.

What repair do you need on your Windows 2000? I can see what repairs might work on 2000.

Have you scanned the system yet with tdsskiller.exe, combofix.exe and malwarebytes?

But did you scan it with those 3 tools?

Every tool out there doesn't always find what others do. Those 3 are the ones I use and find them to find the nasty hidden root kits that delete services, so I just wanted to see if you ran those yet.

OK good, looks like they did find some infections.

Now that those are off of there try the windows repair tool (Since this is a Windows xp machine you did the scans on)

I dont know how it will do on Windows 2000. SO just do a backup first and run all the repairs.

This way if something goes wrong you can restore from your backup.

Worse case, if the services have been deleted by a virus we have to make sure it is clean first, just like on your XP and then try to put the services back in the reg. If it doesnt work you will need to do a reinstall. You could also try a repair install first before a fresh one if it comes down to it
