I am going to do Partition repair as I saw an issue with it. If it does not work then I will Run SFC scannow. Just in case it will help.

It seems strange that you got the same error when just downloading the ISO.

When I was Googling your problem I saw someone had rebuilt the BCD but they had a report there was a problem with it, while you didn't.

Anyway, it sounds like things are now going well.

Yes, The upgrade completed and Windows is showing as activated.

The performance seems to be better than it was with Windows 7 but time will tell.

I am doing updates now.

I am unable to find the intel utility. I use to open it from the desktop, it seems to be gone. How do you open it?

Thanks to you I now have Windows 10 for free.

What Intel utility is that - I've never seen that on this desktop before or after upgrading to Win 10.

Where did you get the Boot Repair disk from ?

Here is the link for boot repair disk. It needs to be created with a tool like Rufus and then boot into it. As soon as it boots up it will will give option to do a boot repair.

https://sourceforge.net/p/boot-repair-cd/home/Home/

I am referring to the Intel Graphics utility. In Windows 7 and 8.1. I would just right click on desktop back ground and click on Graphics property to to open it. But I cannot do it anymore.

How do you open it?

I found a repair disk download on a Majorgeeks.com website but I already have a Kaspersky Rescue Disk that will boot up Windows.

I have an Intel Graphics & Media option in my Control Panel which gives me access to its settings, but right clicking on desktop gives me a display options where you can change the quality of the graphics.

Below is accessing through Control Panel.

For some reason I no longer have Control Panel to select when I click on the search box.

However, type control panel into the search box and right click on it where you can select Pin to taskbar which will give you easy access to it.

I don't have it anywhere anymore.

I will see if the old one can be installed.

I'm not sure if this will work but right click on the taskbar and select Task Manager.

Under the Processes tab, scroll down to Windows Explorer, click on it and then on Restart.

Your taskbar will momentarily disappear and when the CPU usage returns to normal, type control panel in the search box to see if it comes up.

If it doesn't then go back into Task Manager, click on File/Run new task and type Control Panel and check the box to create task as an administrator.

That should open Control Panel where its icon will appear in the taskbar for you to right click on it and select Pin to taskbar.

That did not work. So I downloaded the driver from Toshiba for Win7 and it accepted and after the reboot it has the utility back. But with the same features.

Still nothing for saturation.

I noticed that the start up programs start much faster on Windows 10, just like on Windows 7. But Windows 8.1 has a gap before they start to launch.

Changes that happened after the upgrade.

The Toshiba camera and program worked normally but some programs did not detect the camera so I updated the driver and now other programs detect it but the Toshiba software does not. This is not important because I use other software anyway.

I use external speaker because it has weak speakers. The realtek software detect what is connected to the Jack. Now it works on the Mic Jack but not on the headphone Jack. I tried to select the speaker on it from the detection but still did not work. But this is not a big deal because it works on the Mic Jack. I updated the driver but there was no change in the results.

This article describes how to check for or to install the Intel Graphics Control Panel which may have the Saturation setting.

I found two tools from that link and installed both but they do have saturation and do not control the colors. They are made for driver version 25 and above. Mine is 8.

I do not think it will work on this device.

I solved the issue but reducing the Gamma settings in the default utility from 1.0 to 0.9. The colors are sharper and more vivid.

Thanks for the tip on the Windows 10 free upgrade.

Sorry that didn't work out for the graphics control.

Getting Win 10 for free was hopefully a means to an end but at least you now have an upgraded system which I was happy to help with.
