No it is either a problem with the CD drive or the disk itself

There are some DVD's that have a copyright on them that wont let you copy files and it will give this error as well.

Hi, Shan, as already mentioned in my thread that it is already a copy of the original. Is there any way to fix these errors, so that i could copy them to my pc. Moreover, how to fix this errors. For all other drives, you are having tools in the properties, but for cd drive, there is nothing. I tried chkdsk command on my cd drive in command prompt, but it says that this command cannot work on raw disk.
Knowledge is to share , i appreciate you for that.

You cant do a chkdsk on a cd drive. It is either a problem with the drive or the disk. The best way to test is to put the disk in another system and see if you have the same problem.

If it works fine in another system then the problem is the cd drive, which you would just have to replace as it is a hardware problem. New dvd burners are $18 now. If it is the disc then it may have scraches on it that are not readable.

Hi, Thanks for your reply. Other cds are perfectly readable. So, i think that there is read error in the disk.

Yes, if other cd's read fine then it is the disk itself. And it isnt like a hard drive, it isnt writable so chkdsk would not be able to do anything.
