Ok I logged into another user who had the same problem. On vista the run as system exe crashes, turns out there is a bug in vista with a API it uses. A vista machine with all updates doesnt have the problem, but the ones before that do. So I will be working on an update to get that fixed and use a different API.

I can replicate it easily so wait till the v2.8.7 to see how it does :-)

Oh okay cool.  I was just getting ready to email you so I will wait for the update.  :smiley:

I am starting work on it now and a fresh install of vista in vmware with no updates replicates the program crashing, so I have a test bed to make sure the new exe for the run as service doesnt crash on vista any more :-)
