Problems running the Internet Explorer Repair Tool

<< < (2/6) > >>

Shane:
The repair IE tries to remove a few registry keys that keep flash from working, if those keys are not there it simply says it cant find them, you can ignore those errors.

Have you gone to internet options, clicked on the advanced tab and the click the reset settings to see if it helps?

Thanks for the feedback! I've tried resetting everything including the privacy and security settings with no changes in the problem.

Shane:
The repair tools only removes those few registry keys and then the rest of the repair is just registering all the dll and ocx files IE uses. Normally does the trick, unless something else is really messed up.

Just as a test, create a new user on the system and then log into that user account and see how IE does. That will at least tell me if the problem is with the user profile or machine wide

Boggin:
Did you try IE without add-ons as you haven't responded to that suggestion.

Shane:
Good point as well, Add-ons are normally the cause of a lot of problems, trying with them all disabled is a good test to do.
