So what did it report ?
Dorthejuul:
As I wrote before, the sfc /scannow just closes down when it is complete. I don't know where to find the report. (It doesn't write anything afterwards. It reaches 100% and dishappers).
Boggin:
What I meant by does it complete in Safe Mode was did it give its report after reaching 100%
Can you check to see what a chkdsk /f reports ?
I'm assuming your husband's laptop is Win 7 ?
To view the chkdsk report go Start - type eventvwr and press enter.
When Event Viewer has read the logs expand Windows Logs, click on the name Application - Action - Find - then type into the Find box, chkdsk or wininit and press enter.
Cancel the Find box and then read the report in the scrollable window and make a note if it gives any KBs in bad sectors.
You can post the report if you want by clicking on Copy/Copy details as text then right click in the Reply box and select Paste.

- Microsoft offers a number of "Fixit" programs. Perhaps those will help to make windows repair run.
Dorthejuul:
So, now I really messed everything up!
I found out how to go to advanced settings (F8) when starting the computer. I asked Windows to repair itself, but to make a backup and keep my files. Everything went well, untill the reboot. Now Windows cannot open, and an error comes up and keeps saying "Windows configuring will continue after reboot". When I reboot, it all starts over again with the error and the request for reboot.
Do I need to find a CD-rom with Windows 7 and insert it before starting the computer? -I only have a license for a pre-installed Windows 7-version and therefore have no CD.
OMG - I almost give up!
PS. There are 0 kb in bad sectors!
PPS. It will not help you with a screen shot of the reports, since everything is in Danish
