Hi everyone,
I would like to thank everyone for their help. Finally, after 3 days of frustration I have finally managed to repair my PC with Tweaking.com

That's good to hear - how did you get past the "spinning wheel" to log in ?

denis:
I just kept shutting down the PC until I could into recovery/safe mode. I then followed the instructions you guys gave me and now Windows is operating. Unfortunately, in one of my attempts before I could get tweaking working I did a repair which deleted some of my programs which I now have to re-install.

Boggin:
Is that where 3 successive shutdowns gets you into the recovery mode ?

denis:
Yes, but now always. I just kept trying until I got there.
