Windows Repair v3.9.23 stops at repairing

Not installed yet, he should run it in normal mode.

I thought it was crashing in both modes ?

In 'normal mode', the explorer crashes. Windows keeps running.
In 'just safe mode' and 'safe mode with network', Windows crashes completely after 5 minutes.

Boggin:
I'm surprised Event Viewer doesn't record anything for Windows Explorer stopping.

Are there any USB devices plugged in other than keyboard or mouse or just a mouse with a laptop ?

An update on the issues with this machine:
- A Windows 10  in-place install didn't fix the issue. Explorer still crashes in normal mode.
- High fan speed only in normal mode is fixed, this was due high temperatures at the graphics CPU. The fan/CPU was very dusty.
