Windows Repair v3.9.23 stops at repairing
Boggin:
WR needs to go online when repairing Win 10 because of the apps repair.
Before when you used masconfig, if you had just used Safe boot then you would have gotten an error on the wireless icon because wireless is auto disabled in that mode and you have to wire up to get connectivity.
PeterJ:
The machine crashes on both: 'normal safe mode' and 'safe mode with network'.
Boggin:
When a program crashes and you don't get a BSOD with a Stop Error Code, I'd either be looking at the HDD or memory.
It's unlikely you will be able to download the 30 day trial of HDSentinel but there are two bootable disks you can create, one to check the HDD and the other to check the memory, but as a quick check for the memory where more than one module is fitted, is to run the machine on just one module at a time and swapping slots.
However any memory test should be run on just one RAM module at a time.
SeaTools for DOS is a bootable disk to check the HDD -

And MemTest86+ for the memory - http://www.techfleece.com/2013/07/01/how-to-test-your-ram-sticks-using-memtest86/
PeterJ:
I'm also thinking that there is a problem with the hard disk, so I instructed the owner to run 'HD Tune' and scan for errors.
I'll wait and see what the result will be and post it here.
Boggin:
Does he already have it installed as a 5 min. window may not be sufficient, which is why I've suggested the bootable disks.
