As it gets rid of adverts, did you find any problems when browsing as some sites won't allow you in without a warning if you're using an ad blocker.

FreeCat:
ok, i HAVE NO IMPORTANT WINDOWS UPDATES (JUST ABOUT 8 OPTIONAL ONES) AND (sorry caps) just 7 optional ones.  So, I am going to transfer my Win 7 to SSD.

So, you have very much helped me go from broken BSOD (due to Win 7 updates) to healthy (I think) system that is up to date.

Boggin, do you think I need any of these optional ones.  I mean how do  I know if it will interfere with converting to Windows 10.  Is there anything in update history that I should make sure I have before going to Win 10.  I read that the conversion can be "hairy".

I made a Reflect image of system as it is and will use that to restore to SSD.

Boggin, once W7 image is put on SSD will there be a boot option at startup to boot from SSD or existing drive?

Once I am on SSD, I intend to convert to W10.

THANKS, AGAIN VERY MUCH, BOGGIN.

Boggin:
I've never had a dual boot but I think you get the option for which OS to boot.

One thing to ensure before you upgrade is to ensure all of your drivers are up to date.

You can hide the Preview but most of those have caused problems for some.

KB3161102 is to remove Windows Journal but that wasn't without causing a problem for someone, so I'd hide that one as well.

KB3170735 is interesting because it was one of those that could have helped put Win 10 onto unsuspecting Win 7 users.

I'm not sure if that one would be beneficial or not, but you can hide the rest.

FreeCat:
OK Boggin, I will hide them all based on what you said.
Or really:  I guess I should just install the W10 over the W7 and it they shouw up again in W10 hide them.

But, how do I know if all the drivers are up to date?

Boggin:
If Windows thinks your drivers are all up to date then that should be okay.

Go into Device Manager/View/Show hidden devices then expand each section and right click on the adapter and select Update Driver Software and use the default search online.

For the most part you will get that you already have the latest driver installed, but there may be the odd that has an update.
