I don't know if Shane has gotten that 2004 update yet - I haven't, but when he does he will update the repair program as he will need to see what has changed.

Well that's good news.

How long did the update take ?

I think 1803 took about 2hrs on mine but 1909 was much quicker.

Update from 1909 to 2004 took about 1 hr on my ThinkPad P72.  Most of the time was in the downloading (20 mb/s internet connection, WiFi to home network).

By the way, I got the update through the natural process via Windows Update on May 27, one day before it was supposed to be released generally.

The 2004 ISO is available now on Microsoft Windows 10 download site.

Thanks - I'll wait until it comes through on Windows Update.

I normally Ethernet connect for updates to get the max of 40Mbps, although my wireless speed isn't far behind that but prevents the risk of loss of wireless connection.

Hmmm - In view of that, I may try the Win 10 MCT on my other machine after I've created a newer system image.

That machine took about 2½hrs to install and then the restart prompt screen said that would take another 90mins which is currently on 12%.

I may do this one tomorrow and then create a 2004 install USB.

I would say that no, it should not.  However, mine did (show black wallpaper, that is) immediately after the upgrade.  I simply applied the same photo that I had used as wallpaper before the upgrade.

I thought maybe it was an issue peculiar to my PC, but if others are seeing this as well, it looks like it may be a minor bug in the MS Windows upgrade process.

I restored with the system image and then updated again.

This time the screen was showing as normal, so not sure what happened last time.

Hi,
just updated to win10Pro 2004(from 1909):
i have some worries : Win seems to forget at each new session my credentials for skype , cloud providers(& at the begining all my emails in WLM2012)
very annoying .
i encounter lot of esent errors in the system events diary (i tried to reset by deleting SRUDB.dat linked  to the diagnostic provider service) : no improvment
the scanhealth and sfc /scannow command reported no errors

i did a scan for the  System Reparse Points , i have many of them 240 to be corrected,
i would like to know if its safe with WR209 v4.80 to repair them as it hasn't been yet updated for the last Win update 2004

EDIT: Explorer.exe is continously taking much cpu ressources 40%(i think linked to e-share(formerly ncryptedcloud) freezing i cant access to its parameters )
i did a check disk on all drives

ps: i had to change when updating win10, my login from local account to microsoft account also

thanks

These major updates tend to reset everything - pretty much like a repair install, but I don't know why it isn't retaining your Skype creds.

Perhaps you should report these changes to Microsoft through Feedback.

I would hold off on using the repair program until it has been updated, which I'm sure Shane will be working on now.

I've updated one machine to 2004 but haven't ran the repair program's pre-steps to see if it has affected my Reparse Points.

I don't use that machine much but I intend to update this one tomorrow through the MCT and I'll know more if there are any adverse effects.

Installing 2004 caused a few problems on my PC, for example, some video files wouldn’t open. Couldn’t purchase the latest Cyberlink PhotoDirector upgrade, from their Website. (Checkout unavailable) and I got a message about Tweaking.com when I tried to use it. Something about insufficient files.

I used Macrium Reflect to restore my most recent snapshot backup (Created just before I downloaded and installed 2004) and normality was resumed. I can live without this Windows 10 update.

In view of these bugs, I think I'll wait before updating this machine and restore the other one with the system image.

Until Shane brings the repair program up to date for 2004 then it won't be compatible.

However, I'll bring this thread to Shane's attention because of the bugs, so he may want to hold off on updating the program.

Actually, Windows Repair 4.8.0 does work with Win 10 2004. Just ignore the error message and continue on. Apparently, MS wants a specific folder for Win 10 2004  added.

I think I'd still advise to wait as MS tend to change Permissions which could cause problems with newer versions of Windows.

2004 may be a bit different but members have had problems running an older version of the program on latest versions of Win 10.

That went through a phase of no boot after the reboot in those cases.
