It still happening, several times a day. Most times it seems to happen when I'm using Dragon NaturallySpeaking which I have to use because of my disability. I completely uninstalled and reinstalled it and it didn't make a change sought something else causing the problem that's just where I see it. Any other ideas to try certainly appreciated.

You could perform a clean boot to see if any other program in your start up menu is conflicting.

This article will save me some typing - https://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/29876.windows-10-how-to-perform-a-clean-boot.aspx#:~:text=How%20to%20perform%20a%20Clean%20Boot%20in%20Windows,click%20or%20tap%20Startup%20and%20open%20Task%20Manager.
.
If it no longer occurs in the clean boot then enable one item at a time in Task Manager and reboot to see if that changes anything.

If there's no change then you will need to do the same with the non MS Services in msconfig.

It's a time consuming process but it's a case of elimination.

If you find anything that conflicts then leave that disabled.

I don't have anything that will let me read your repair doc, but from what you have replied, I think they will be okay.

Okay, the problem is still happening despite everything I've tried. However, I look at the reliability monitor this morning and it said there was a problem with Audiodg.exe. I'll post the information you gave me below, does that help anyone get an idea what may be causing my problems?

When you get a problem with a particular program, the best course is to uninstall/reinstall then see if that resolves the problem.
