General Computer Support / is there any utility to get to know the settings of menu in bios in a running pc

HI,
             
Going to bios and seering the settings of each tab is possible when you tab delete or f2 key. But is there any utility that could grasp the bios settings menu wise and actual selection. It would be a useful tool which shane could attempt, if it is not there. The inside information on a running pc would be easy to know, what are all the menus selected and what is the menu in it has been selected.
                                                Speccy and other tools only show the bios version and not the menu details. Would anybody has any clue

General Computer Support / problem after downloading panda antivirus pro 2015

Hi,
                      I am member in some of the forums, which softnonic is one. As birth day gift, i was given a 6 months free access to the panda anti virus pro 2015. I thought of ignoring, but anyhow getting free pro version prompted me to try. OK. I downloaded installed it after uninstalling avast, my regular av. Then came the trouble. I could not get any site in internet, even tweaking.com. By clicking this site, the back and forth was swirling but would not get me the site. I tried so much times and everytime i was greeted with the problem accessing the site message from firefox.
                                I could not uninstall it as it hanged in the middle. I got rid of it by restoring the system to a previous date. The avast did not work. Then i installed it after using their avastclear.exe. I had a offline downloader of avast of 145 mb which installed in few minutes.
Why this is so? do any body experienced the above. Now i am ok with avast. The avast av free allow all the websites in few clicks and there is no problem in downloading. What is the reason Shane sir

Hi,
                     When booting with win 7, i got the above message, i do not know whether the message is  returned or restored as it only flashes before starting windows screen.
                             What is this?
                                       Now, it is gone and starting windows normally and everything works smoothly.

General Computer Support / (solved)would 2 gb ram for my intel mothre board spoil the boot

Hi, I have added one more gb to my existing one gb.But if i try to boot the computer, the yellow light just flashes a second and then monitor starts blinking as if computer is not powered on. i tried this for quick speed browsing of explorer and browsers. But, computer would not start. I thought for a while and removed the additional 1 gb and now it boots normally.
                               My question is whether the mobo does not support 2 gb even when there is provision of 4 slots in my mother board dimm.
                              Or the slot is defective ? and so the problem arises. When i did that numerous error including windows failed to start a recent hardware or software might be the cause. would anybody thro some light on this.

My hard disk is a kind of bricked one. It does not show up in bios as well while install or repair. I will be thankful for any one who specifically give a link for download.
      I tried f6fply x86 and tried in both win xp or win 7. Both failed.
If iclick the hide the drivers ,no drivers shown. If i select install all, it instamells but i get no drivers found error message in win 7 and similar msg in win xp. Intel sata drivers for my board is the need of the hour. i am trying to integrate drivers for xp atleast, but since the correeeeeeeeeeeet driver is not found  i could not use my pc at all

Hi,
                    My aim was to create video lyric karoke. I downloaded an application for this and when i try to install, it it alerts that i should have itunes downloaded prior to this installation. I will remember the exact program in my next post.
                             i downloaded the itune from apple.com and while installing it i got the above error. While i install first, the error was specific but it closed . Again executing the same, i got the above error message. It was a huge 104 mb download, and is there any fix for this.
                                   I normally do not update windows updates, and i do not think that would be a issue for this instal failure. Anyothe idea. My idea was to make video lyric karoke myself with known film songs.
                                        i could find a bonjour folder of apple which could not be uninstalled . I was repeatedly getting error, that one installation is in progress and hence advised me to stop that installation prior to uninstall bonjour. I could not find any pending downloads as per my knowledge.

Hi, Shane,
               Even though i did not uncheck the notify me of replies in your reply box, for the past 20 days, i am not receiving your email alert in my gmail.  Is there any check on that? or is there a glitch?. Always mail from tweaking com interest me to go to your page.
                       Now, i have to go the forum, and then have to see the thread here only. Please.

Update:  I have recently used filter a specific email address which was spamming my computer with unwanted mails. Would that be the reason. How to see the filtered mail. If tweaking com is there i will dis select it to get the prompt mail replies

Hi,
                  I have already written about my friend failed hard disk and how i recovered from a fresh os installation. When i removed and tried to install the windows with other computer connection, everything restored including the fresh os installation.
                              But when he connect this new installed OS hard disk to his computer, then when boots it boots and stops at intel sign. When pressed delete to enter to bios, the screen shows intel booting with ... mark. The initial intel desktop board boot screen. I could not capture . It says something that legacy boot detected and stops at that. It does not go to the windows. Why this? How to rectify this error? When installed and seen from other computer everything appears, i stress appears normal, but when he connects to his computer the same hard disk it stops at intel sign. Is there any boot managers fault or some other thing.
                    Update; I also tried to connect his hard disk with my computer, and it hangs at the same point. Intel logo. When i press delete, it does not go to bios, instead to the intel desktop logo as in command prompt, saying starting.... , but nothing more than that

General Computer Support / my pc's processor temp shows as high as 83 to 97 celsius. Is it safe

Hi,
                       Normally i would not test the process temp. But to day i checked and it is near 87 to 97 c. Is it normal for intel mother board 915 gav model?. If not, is there any thing i could do to reduce the temp. I am having a fan beside the cpu, which is working. My computer does have some boot problem, that it would not boot at the first attempt. Is this anything to do with processor.Pl
 I saw this link regarding under volting to reduce the processor temp?. Are those downloads at the link down there are safe? or BSOD?

Hi,
      I am using firefox browser latest. When i click you tube videos, it covers the entire screen, when i select full screen. But in some other sites, if i click the video , it plays, but it does not cover the entire monitor leading the gap in the top of the monitor up to the address bar in firefox? Why? Is there any solution

Suppose, i have c: as system, d and e are created ones, how to shrink the volume of E and create one more partition out of 160 gb of 80 gb each, without disturbing the Os and other space

Hi,
                      This has happened to one of my friends. All of a sudden, when installing windows 7 on already having os system, thro external setup.exe, normally, it create windows.old and overwrite the partition with new installation files.  But, when installing the new , when on first reboot after all the menu except finalising windows installation, the computer never reboot and stayed still on intel sign. He tried all sorts but this does not solve the problem. I think that c: has been corrupted somehow. But he has files in other drives, which could not be accessed because of this problem.
                          My question, could those be retrieved somehow.
while installing windows c: was deleted to install new windows .

Hi,
           I  wish to point out that my hard disc totally failed without intimating any fallure symptoms. I have bought a new hard disk. I wan to have a clear cut instruction of how to allocate the space with the installation dvd, when i dacross the more drives option. like delete format new screen. Now my os was loaded with a cloned c: drive, which i need to format to install the disk totally fresh. How to do this.im having 320 gb; hard disk where cloned c: takes some space. Would anyone kind to tell as the procedures are somewhat confusing      Now if i boot from dvd to get to that screen, then it w
illhow to  show some drives. How to do it. 
 should i first to format c: which is cloned one with norma format.
how to get the total disk space of 320 g b to be allocated equally on c,d,e and f partitions.               
      Is it possible to delete this c: to get unallocated bytes and then again create these partitions and then allot each drhe soltive with some memory size. Pl tell the link which gives precisely the solution

General Computer Support / i could not reinstall win 7 over existing win 7, error cd dvd drivers

Hi,
                  I am having tdds dvd driver which is working properly. When i tried to install, after formatting the c: and reserved portion, from the installation dvd, after while a white progressive bar, i get cd dvd driver is missing with exit or continue command. If i click browse, a blank page appears to select the driver, if i exit , it exit the setup. what is wrong. Cannot i reinstall over existing, by dvd method. Where i am wrong, i do not know. Would any body tell how to fix the thing. Should i change any bios settings. Previous occasion, i was just able to install without any problem. Why now, i tried uninstallling the dvd drivers and reboot. I tried update, and it is the best driver, it says after searching window updates. Pl give the solution, at the earliest, so that i could reinstall.
Update: i tried windows usb dvd download  tool for, but the same error, when i click the language settings  and then clicked next.
I have tried to enable msachi.sys and other to get the compatability issue fixed. Nothing good happening.
I thing that tsst corp dvd has no separate drivers and it is a plug and play device.
                             Why i am getting these errors. The cd dvd w is working normally.
                      Strange that it advises you to safely take the dvd from the dvd drive if, i have the dvd on the drive for this step.
                            I tried windows readiness tool, but it hangs at 85% looping and not finishing.
                            Sfc details come with more error.
                         Shane, i have also tried your fixes in all  in one , but which tool replaces the correct registry entries. Is that registry permission or other things. Somebody in other forum remarked, that he used your tool to fix this issue. Which should i tick to repair these kind of errors.
                              I have sata hard disc, and dvd tsst corp cddvdw sh 224 bb ata service in my dvd. Is there anything i have to do in bios for compatibility. But my bios just show sata 0 for hard drive and sata 1 for dvd drive. Should i have to change some thing here. There is no other type of system type preference. Pl say something on this subject.

Hi,
                    Yesterday, there was some problem in windows explorer. It would not open or open after a long wait. I tried to Reregister the win explorer by command prompt. It never worked and i got an error message that the head of the dll could not be found. This is not actual message.
                           I tried new task in Task Manager after deleting the existing explore.exe in process tab. Then i got the error, that windows cannot find explore. exe, so there was no desktop at all. I pressed the off the power button, and on reboot the computer behaved normally, and i could see the explore.exe both in the process tab and on the file location also. But, somehow, the problem of slow........., or just hang or freezing were happening as usual.
                              Then a sudden thought to try Shanes tool for individual fixes. I could not find a specific windows explorer fix, but i selected windows dll fix. Within a few seconds, in a flash everything is set right. I checked a new task in task manager, by deleting the process in process tab and it worked perfectly. Thanks Shane, i took your software to problematic computers and do the fixes individually within no minutes. Shane, could you add the registry fixes , if such files as exes are swallowed by present rootkits and browser hijackers, which change those exes as not executable. It would be a boon.

General Computer Support / Thunderbird, is it a mail browser for firefox?

Hi,
                  I have used google takeout tool to save the contents of mail and optional calender . It was downloaded as zip file and google team sent email about it as a enclosure in gmail. Ok. well. But i found it hard to download the zip file and eventually i succeeded after repeated attempts. When i tried to open that with 7zip. it came with bad header error.
                    I surfed the net and then try winrar. There was a repair option. I select this in the winrar explorer and select this file and then select repair. It repaired and i now have 223 mb of data in ics format.The original download size is 224 mb. Ok.
                          When i opened this file, microsoft outlook autopops to open it like any email client. I do not like outlook, as it once opened and swallowed all my email from yahoo due to the preconfigurations of outlook. So, i think that it is in ics format and thunderbird could be able to open it. Please kindly say, what is thunderbird?Is it a kind of new browser like firefox or gmail like for google for firefox. I tried to download and succeeded in downloading thunderbird. If it is anything like outlook, then i am not going to open  it. So, i want your idea , whether it will swallow all my emails or just you could open any ics file of google takeout in it as a normal program, an offline program to open and view the contents of your previous gmails.
                    A detailed reply would be helpful, friends

Hi,
                  I wrote a useful tweak guide to problems in installing adobe reader, which i will in my next post. I have almost completed but while doing so, i want to have a useful link for the topic. Once, when i get that link address i tried and then came back to my unfinished draft in this forum, but alas, everything was gone, except a blank screen. My tips have vanished. Why this happens when i have not finished and went to get a link to copy to it? Should i do to open a new tab instead of just open another instance of my browser.
                   Update: i also have script finishing problem, when the ads in the page is loading and then changing. When i switch to some other question, then again the script finishing problem occurs. Temporarily i downloaded adblock plus to block ad loading.

Hi,
               I enabled IMAP settings in my gmail so that all the mails from yahoo to be recieved in gmail. All the links in gmail like tweaking.com works and get me the link. But when i click yahoo mail link, it gives server not found error even after i logged in to Yahoo mail account. Why?
                    Previously i was able to click the yahoo mail link in my gmail would go to my prefered saved messages in yahoo, wherein i am answering users query on excel and my known things. I would then click the link and it goes to the saved messages on my interest at the Yahoo mail. But , now it does not work. What should i do to correct this. All other mail links works perfectly well

Hi,  Funny as it may seem. But on the other day when we notice that some lights glow while driving denoting that there is something missing or low, in the car indicator tab. On checking , i found that either squirrel or rats have eaten the inside wires in the engine and also totally damaged the windscreen tube, that contains the water. There are also other plastic cans which has coolant, that escape the rodent attack.
Servicing it really cost me dear, in the sense that radiator assembly has to be replaced with windscreen connection and wires. It costs me dear. I had the car for more than 3 years, and only now i have this problem.
                  Any immediate solutions that could stop rodent from approaching the engine during night times. Occasionally, i find cats are rounding but i think rats are smarter than cats nowadays.
                          Real solutions would be appreciated. I do not want to spend for car parts due to rodent bites like monthly maintenance

                     I am having a strange problem. The startup program exe works, but the some program icons are showing as blank file type. This is only for the programs. Mozilla firefox is one of the program, which shows correctly but the recent files accessed shows all as unknown file type. what has happened? How to correct. Please see the Malware bytes icon

General Computer Support / ( Solved) Should one update the drivers for non changed hardware with same OS

Hi,

                     I thought of asking before. Now it is somewhat confusing as to why to update drivers for the hardwares that were not changed physically hardwares, such as sound card , bios etc.,
                         I understand that there might be some release updates of their drivers. But how it is that updated drivers could only it to function. The software that were supplied sometimes are not working with the previous supplied cds by the same vendors.
                          Normally if the OS of the system gets corrupted, you just install the same cd or dvd to reinstall. Likewise, the same old drivers would not do. Why? The updated drivers may be having some improvements over the previous version, but would it not allow the previous version to work.
                          Lastly why the Bios to be updated anyway? it is lingering question all thro the times for some drivers work as usual, but others are not working with the old drivers. The other thing that the new updated drivers are not working on some applications and the old one are working fine.
                                Please  i want a detailed reply or link to the solution.

Hi,
             Today, when i opened the desktop folder , i find the control panel icon shown in the middle of the desktop. the Other things mentioned above are not shown in the desktop, but present in the Desktop folder. I have not copied those folders or shortcut to my desktop. It does exist, without any bytes shown or date in the windows explorer viewing. Is it normat? I only find user defined shortcuts, program shortcut and Recycle bin to be found in the desktop. How come Computer,control panel found place in there?. I clicked the control panel icon and it opens control panel.

Hi, I am trying to record a song in Audacity. My sound plays well in the speakers, but when i try to connect a mike for recording, then there is no sound or any activity. If i go to the Hard ware and sound section and then check record tab, a mike is shown, but in the right there is no effect, if i read anything in to the mike. Literally my mike is not playing any sound. Other things, like playing video and audio, there is no problem. It is playing correctly How to check the mike in any other way. Please give solution to
