All antiviruses are unable to work(SOLVED)
« on: January 04, 2014, 10:41:34 pm »
Hello, I got this forum from "Windows Repair - (All in 1)". Marvelous program but didnt work in my issue.

Suddenly I have a weird problem, my antivirus doesnt work any more, no live protection, no scaning. I tried 4 more antivirus, wont work too. I also tried in safe mode, I used Malwarebytes, RJT and many others. No result.

Can u help plz?

Sounds like your system is infected.

A lot of viruses will totally kill and disabled all the well know anti viruses. If your not on Windows 8.1 have you tried running combofix.exe yet?

Yes apparently it is infected, sfc /scannow told me that there are some corrupted windows files which cannot repair.
I have Win 7 Ult 64 SP1.
I already run combofix twice, do u want the log file, can u read it?

If the system files are corrupt and infected then a repair install would be best.

Better than a fresh install because you can keep your programs and settings :-)

First you need a Windows 7 cd with SP1 on it. You can grab it here
https://sites.google.com/site/linuxlablibrary/windows-iso

And then just follow this

Well, I used "Windows defender offline", booted with that and deleted the virus, now antivirus is working properly.
But sfc /scannow still tells me that "there are corrupted win files which cannot repair all of them".

So, do I have to make that repair or it is not necessary?

The only way to repair the SFC and the winsxs folder is by a reinstall.

But if you are working now and are not having any problems you can wait to do the reinstall

Hi shane has not changed his mind. He has given the best solution. You could see the log files of cbs.txt by copying the text to some other folder or desktop and see the missing files. Some times , the missing files may be connected with windows protected image, music and audio video files which are protected, but system does not need. If these files are missing, then it is ok. But if system files like files from micrsoft shared folder or winsocks then it is not easy to copy or download these files. If you copy these from suspicious web sites, then there is total problem of your computer getting compromised to on line attacks and unwanted POP ups.Repair install is the best solution as it will preserve your other program files you would have downloaded. ok
The Bottom line is "Check your hardware first if it supports the task you try".

I guess Shane can talk for himself. In his first post said

and in his last post said

Winsxs folder
http://blogs.technet.com/b/askcore/archive/2008/09/17/what-is-the-winsxs-directory-in-windows-2008-and-windows-vista-and-why-is-it-so-large.aspx

If your system is running fine right now then leave things be. But you will always have the problem of SFC not working and the problem with the WinSxS folder, which after reading that page you will see that it might cause problems down the road. but till it does you can just keep going as you are now :-)

I gave you the links to do a repair install, for free, if you need it

try run Windows Repair tool too and also for boot issues; it has worked for me on several occasions, as far as I ahve seen, the only time it does not work is when the hard drive is BAD!

I used this Kaspesky rescue disk, what a great waste of time
Scanning took 17 hours(!)
Found a couple of incorrect warms(some java files and a MAME's one) and did not fix the win files. Sfc /scannow still says that corrupted files exist.

yes, it took 17 hours on mine too, but we would have never found those problems anywhere else.

I too had the same issues.

http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolsofthetrade/ht/sfc-scannow.htm

have a look at this section.

Tips: 1.
When running sfc /scannow from outside of Windows, like from the Command Prompt available when you boot from your Windows disc or flash drive, or from your System Repair Disc or Recovery Drive, you'll have to tell the sfc command exactly where Windows exists, as in this example: sfc /scannow /offbootdir=d:\ /offwindir=d:\windows

The /offbootdir= option specifies the drive letter, while the /offwindir= option specifies the Windows path, again including the drive letter.

lastly, do you have another computer with the same system or install disk?
shane can/should be able to tell you how to run the SFC scan from your install disk using this method:)

UNTIL you run SFC clean, only solution, install a new harddisk and all your programs.
then, before you copy any files. understand what not to copy to your new system...

maybe shane even has a USBboot disk for you to use?
:)

A post in this thread after 20 days?:

Well, I didnt understand much of your post

Meanwhile, lately I get a msg about "the Windows Rundll32 stopped" which is annoying because if u r in the middle of a game it takes u out.
Do u know how to get rid of this msg?

yes, it took 17 hours on mine too, but we would have never found those problems anywhere else.

But, as I said, this task solved nothing to me.
