[SOLVED]download manager|Rename
« on: March 29, 2016, 01:32:10 am »
I am looking for powerful download manager.
I've tried many, every time ALL managers tested hang  or EXTREME SLOW  or can not add more than 1 link.
I want to add 30k direct links (text file) (reality shows that it is not much) :sarcastic:

Any ideas, any suggestions?

link tells it all:
:D

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/downthemall/

i.ebayimg.com/images/g/gL0AAOSwxvxW8a92/s-l1600.jpg

s-l1600.jpg
Replace with: gL0AAOSwxvxW8a92.jpg

File names are always the same, so I want to change it to a unique name. Avoid always visual similarities images.

Julian - downthemall the application does not download full speed (average 100kB/s) (4-10 simultaneous downloads)
Other Download Manager - a speed of about 2 MB/s (very fast downloads direct HTTPlinks)

This is not a tool for downloading multiple files. Also can not import a list of links in a text file. Besides, this is a paid test tool 30-trial, which already begins to irritate me asking to register.

Can you program? I suggest maybe program an add-on for Firefox since you seem to use Firefox a lot.  I've had to come to terms that not every program out there can suit all my means. Most programs out there try to suit the needs of the masses of all age groups and tech skill. You seem to know a bit about computers and have a particular mindset to do mass amounts of computational tasks. That's above what an average user does so programmers will limit their programs. If you need to automate a task find a way to do it. Unfortunately I can't program otherwise I'll try an make a simple add-on and share it. I hope you can find a solution to you needs.

My issue is associated with the download manager (not related to Firefox and other extensions)
50 simulataneous downloads - now there is no problem.
But my latest issue is how to change the file names (during the download)

Edit: Solved:

use backreferences
Code: [Select]
{$2}

- Did you even BOTHER to try Nettransport ? Your reply seem to suggest you didn't.
- Nettransport can download multiple files. Just import a list into the GUI and it will work/download the entire list from top to bottom. It can download multiple files simultaneously. And if there files that have the same name then the program will automatically make sure there isn't a clash of names.
- Yes, I also would like to see ALL software to be free of charge. But sometimes one simply has to pay for a good piece of software.

Willy2- Quickly tested Nettransport, I do not like the interface.
I tried to add a list of links,  supports adding only the base.

Nope. Without doing advertising, but there is a very powerful, free download manager with hundreds, thousands of functions and supports a very lot of popular sites
Also help - free support. But if you want to support the project, like - you can always donation.
