Codejock.Controls error
« on: May 25, 2018, 07:20:50 am »
I have a windows XP machine on which I am trying to run Tweaking.com Windows Repair but when trying to start it, I get a "Component.'Codejock.Controls 8.2.0.ocx or one of its dependencies not correctly registered:a file is missing or invalid"

I'm not sure if the program still supports XP - I'll pass it on.

What is the reason you need to run the repair program ?

I started getting this error when closing some programs:
Proxy Desktop: explorer.exe application error
The exception unknown software exception (0x40000015) occurred in the application at location 0x100891da.
Click on OK to terminate program.

You posted the same problem on here in March 217 - https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=6&ved=0ahUKEwia1ofs46HbAhVkIMAKHcZtBVUQFghWMAU&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.tweaking.com%2Fforums%2Findex.php%3Ftopic%3D5207.0&usg=AOvVaw1rUj5S5fKXzUUFcozhKYID

Would you like to explain why you are now unable to fix it with the same solution as you did then ?

- Do you still have two pink links when you run GSmartControl ?
- If so then your HD is indeed in the 1st stages of failing. No wonder, your Windows is "acting up".
- You can try the following: Register all files used by WR. Open the MSDOS window and type:

  cd c:\windows\system32

and type for each *.dll, *.ocx, *.ax file in the folder in which Windows Repair the following command:

regsvr32 ...... (replace the dots with the path and filename of the file to be registered)

Repair has been installed the following command

None of these fixes ever fixed the error I just listed.Only the problem with Explorer not remembering its position which has been fixed
The hard drive has been checked. It is not failing.
I am asking why I can't run Tweaking .com Windows Repair.
That is the only problem I am trying to solve.
I was asked why I wanted to run Tweaking.com windows repair and responded with the error which has NEVER been solved.

Either the antivirus is sandboxing the control or the control is not in the program folder. Can you look in that folder and see if it is there?  Likely you have a bad download and should reinstall.

Yes, I did a deep removal using Iobit Uninstaller and reloaded Tweaking.com Windows Repair and the Codejack error went away
