Problems running the Internet Explorer Repair Tool
Shane:
All I use is firefox, one of the things you will like about it is all the free add ons you can use, including an ad blocker :-)
For IE, this is a tough one, mainly because it IS working, but it is just slow. IE has always been slow, but that depends on the version of IE, IE 11 is a heck of a lot better than the old 8, 9 and 10.
One thing that can slow down IE is if the temp cache folder has a ton of files in it. Have you cleared all history and such from IE yet by any chance?
Shane
MSRadell:
History files and cache have both been cleared with no effect. This installation used to run very quickly but deteriorated over the last week or two. A system restore did not correct the problem.
Shane:
Do you have all the latest updates installed? I know MS put out 20 updates today, at least thats what my Windows updates showed.
Shane
MSRadell:
Yes they were installed this afternoon.
Shane:
Have you tried this yet?
- open Internet Explorer
- go to Tools -> Internet Options
- go to "Connections" tab
- click on "LAN settings" button
- uncheck "Automatically detect settings"
