Windows 7 update error code 80070002
TjaMat:
Alright this is what I got
Also tried the scannnow in safemode
Julian:
hmmm in your services is the windows module installer running that needs to be running for sfc to run.
Shane:
I am curious if this will help, if it does I need to get it added to the repairs :-)
Download the attached file and extract it, run the bat file and it should clear out the cat database, once it is done reboot and it should start to rebuild, you wont see anything.
Give it a few min to maybe even 30 min and then see if things are any better.
Shane
TjaMat:
The windows module installer wasn´t running.
I started it but didn´t change anything.
Did the cat file thing in the output looks like it run into some trouble.
Boggin:
Try these commands, but it may also have problems with the catroot2 folder when you have already tried to rename it, but see how it goes although Shane's batch file may also include these cmds.
The SoftwareDistribution cmds will remove the update history.
net stop wuauserv
net stop cryptSvc
net stop bits
net stop msiserver
ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 catroot2.old
net start wuauserv
net start cryptSvc
net start bits
net start msiserver
Then enter exit to close the cmd window and reboot.
If the forum allows you to copy & paste text then you can paste the cmds at the cmd prompt.
