Hi, Use Panda Usb Vacccine to inject  from Panda.com..Or by majorgeeks.com. These are reliable sites for downloading. Due to virus or generic virus, this ejection problem crops up. When you normally insert a drive, it gets automatically connected and it tries to execute the autorun of any hidden files.

You could check pendrive for virus. You could enable showing all files in the view menu in the folder options. But when you try to delete the unwanted folders, it will not allow you to do so, because the the prgoram or virus exetuable is using the computer default processes during the time and hence, it is used by other process.
Once installed, click panda usbvaccine.exe and it will create a autorun.inf , file in the root of the pendrive. There are two options of injection. Computer and pendrive. First you vaccinate the computer and then the pen drive. Even though virus is in your computer further damage could be stopped by this action.
By vaccinating the pendrive, you could easily stop the process access of trojan, autorun suspicious programs from contacting the process from your computer. Now any folder could be deleted in the pen drive to get rid of these viruses or PUPs. You could delete the folders which deny access earlier. Once it is vaccinated, then it will not pass on the virus to other computers and your computer will not get affected by these hidden autoruns. Ok. Whenever you insert other pdrive then, it automatically injected it. Use and tell your experience. I am a long user of this wonderful free programme

Hi, Shane, the problem still persists. How to check with external speakers. My son was not provided with headphones. But there is another slot. Is that for the speaker plugin. I will test whether the system speaker is working first.
Hi, Shane, sir, when i try to use the microsoft fix it by connecting the internet with the laptop, which now am using for the pc, the firefox browser does not allow to browse even to google sites. It says error of date and time . i corrected to the system date and time . It says the connection is not trusted and it will not allow me to download anything from the web or to browse any page
I was able to run boot scan by avast , and it shows nothing. Even malware bytes do not show any risk. On only one boot, there was a message that "windows have recovered from serious error. Do you want to send the files to ms. yes or no message. Please kindly inform me any solution.
Hi willy there is a folder called os, which is having three files. One image file presumably windows. How to use this ?. No. HP did not recommend anything.
I have downloaded sound max audio HD drivers from the swsetup folders, and all the other things are in proper place, yet the sound , including system sounds elude me.
I had tested Hdd test, and it passed 100%. I installed the drivers, and checked whether there is any mute settings, . I removed all the mute barring, the default line in, by sound max. Would that have to be unmuted.
When i play audio file, the file is playing without sound. I do not know the reason. Would i have to replace the speakers. But, when i go to system speakers, it does not show, anything needed.
Is chkdsk /f/r in command prompt different from self hdd self test, which included memory, standard, comprehensive and s.m.a.r. t test.
              Can i do that?

I have written a long reply to willy to thank him for giving me a clue where to look for the drivers. It has solved my sound problem which crept again while viewing the video. It was found in a folder swsetup,Hi, willy, windows os and then all the drivers in that folder Is the order correct. Even i tried to get the drivers from HP. But those did not work, because it needs change in bios which is very risky to attempt. Thanks for willy and shine
Hi, shane, i logged on and when i try to reply send, there came the access denied message for spam filters. How it is? Sir

Thank you Shane, But disabling Sata worked for me. Should i again make it enable in the set up menu. I heard that windows xp does not support SATA but IDE. But there was no option in the menu, only enable and disable. Hence i took the risk of disabling and i got it somehow worked. But should i enable after the problem is over. How the OS at the initial stage would have been installed. Does any prog or trojan would change?
I also want to know how to prepare recovery disc if it crashes again. I surfed through the net. But no useful replies. In one of the article, it shows how to do, but i could not see system recovery in All programs in the laptop having hp xp. I only had backup.
Please advise me that i could install all the other drivers and programs from HP site, the link is given. Then i install xp and all the drivers from this site, so that any future crash could be managed effectively. HP does not provide cds after 2003, i suppose.

You have not stated whether the device was shown as connected in usbdeview. If it is not shown as connected, other fixes will not work. If the system shows that it is connected, then you can check whether it is shown in the explorer for you to use.
Try this option,if the device is connected but not shown in the explorer for you to use, then go to Folder options and in the general options, click the 2 options to show all folders. If this helps, pl

Hi, hugh,

Go to start. type run. find run.exe and then click it . On the Run box, type msinfo32 and click enter. You get a screen. Go to components and click problematic devices. There you will find what is the problem that whether your usb is shown. If it is there, then i wish to state that the drivers updates by microsoft is not enough and you have to get the drivers from your device manufacturers. Please let us know, what the problematic devices list your usb.
try download the latest drivers, and if this solves your problem, ok, let us know

Hi, Thanks Shane. But the problem was i could not go to the safe mode itself. But i solved the problem.
But these laptops are provided as preinstalled and you cannot do much about it. Even the screen you get will not let you.
I thought of reinstalling xp, but that was not possible, because after loading the all files , if i click R for repair or for that matter Fresh install, it says that it found no hardware at all and give me the option of F3 to get out. I have tried all possible methods, but could not either repair or reinstall.
I have tried in bios, but it was only little options. In diagnostic menu, there i clicked each menu and noted what sort of hardware, if at all now, the computer has. There was something. like sata as enabled. I disabled it with the risk, that everything will get messed up.
I again restarted after saving this , again i try to reinstall. After it shows, I chose R and what a beautiful change, I could go to the C:Windows, i clicked 1 and passed the password option. I thought of closing and try to reinstall windows now. Anyhow, a thought struck me to use fixmbr. I took the risk and wow, it showed that the system has corrupted mbr and i said yes to copy a fresh mbr. After exiting this , i tried and wonder the system has worked with sound.
Shane, how the mbr would be corrupted, in a computer that has no internet connection. Thanks

Hi, Sharing of one knowledge is the key motto of this site.
Why cannot you enclose the strange blue and yellow icon with print screen

2014
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/tips-for-solving-problems-with-usb-devices
Pl try the fixit
Also check whether shell hardware detection services is in started stage.Just type services.msc and go to the services tab. There you flind shell hardware detection service. click and check whether it is started. If not manually start it and check with plugging the usb device.
usb dview is a program which allows you know the connected devices. If your usb is connected it will be shown. If the connected status is disabled you could try in the same program , how to uninstall the device and reinstall, check hardware change etc. it was a utility, i used it when i had the problem with camera usb not working. ok.

Hi, You could easily rename your current account, by going to the Admin log on. It will not be usually visible when you normally boot. You have to enable it in the user accounts in lusrmgr.msc and then reboot. You get a log on icon for administrator also. By logging in to it you could do whatever you want. Pl try. SFC scannow only checks for corruption in the windows protected files. Repair windows is the last option, as you will loose all your downloads. By logging in to administrative account, a default account by microsoft, you could do and undo so many things. It is always better to have a non password or password protected admin account, so that you could control the system effectively. Hope you understands. I want opinion be endorsed by Shane. Because i have learnt so many tricks from him in my day to day computer browsing. Post it whether you could access on admn log on

Hi, It seems that you are not able to log on to the windows. Is this correct?. I suspect there is some problem in booting. Have you tried to log on to in safe mode. If you could , then download aswmbr.exe from avast and run according to its instructions. If your mbr is affected, it will prompt you to fix the mbr. click the button, if so, and say yes to the warning. If the problem is with mbr, then this will work for you. You have not clearly mentioned that you are not able to get to the windows.

Hi, I am here again Shane, sir
My sons HP laptop was working smoothly. When he was viewing a video, yesterday, the sound, the audio, suddenly stopped. He was viewing in vlc player. Even system restore does not restore the sound. I could not write what is the error message in BSOD. There is no windows cd xp provided with this notebook. i tried self test, but it passed after 64 minutes.
Is the operating system xp same with Pc and laptops? xp sp3 is the current os. Can i install with windows xp cd?
I cannot log on to in safe mode, and i do not know about safe networking mode, it is the only working mode. pl advise

Hi, Shane,

Probably this may fix the threader's problem. But i want to see the solution in the link, because, i am not an expert in registry. If it fixes the problem, and if you find there are no trojans or indirect hacks, then i would request you to recommend this fix, an instant fix at that. Hi, moreover, when one click the windows repair, there is an warning of creating restore point. Have you created it. If it has been created, go to the system restore to restore the system to a previous date, by choosing the restore point. It is very safer tool. It does not harm the m
computer. Even though it is running on the background, the check is always safe. Creation of restore point  is one of the main option in the menu. It also gives you option of other pre checks before using windows registry tool. I am using, whenever i have problem. You could select that part of the option, where there is a problem.

Hi, In Avast free antivirus, there is a option of boot scan, in the scan now options. please log on to safe mode by pressing f8 and then open the avast user interface and schedule the bootscan and restart. Choose move to chest in the settings in the boot scan. Now you restart the computer, the avast will kill all trojans rootkits PUP at boot stage itself.
If you could not do so, try in safe normal boot and schedule boot scan. AVast is the vastly used free antivirus and it has also inbuilt a rootkit killer. In safe mode, it should work.If avast finds anything, again menu pop up for your choice of action, click move to chest and after reboot, go to chest and remove the rootkit or if you prefer choose delete in the options menu while boot scanning and it will delete, if found any more rootkits trojans etc
Thanks  shane for recommending avast for me to my query on the other thread. I had been using mcafee with lot of intrusions before

Thank Shane for the reply. i told him so.  Regarding this thread, I would suggest that the present trojan or keylogger or some other rootkit programs are trying to hit the system restore, so that you do not have a restore back chance or removing the radio buttons, in my friends case. The undo system restore button has not been found to restore back to the original position. Particularly, browser hijackers are resorting to this method of injecting their other side of the genius
