Windows has its own repairs.

Open a command prompt and run as an administrator then enter these cmds -

dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

sfc /scannow

then reboot and check.

I don't know anything about it.

I suggest you contact the program's authors.

I'll pass this onto Shane as I don't use any tweaking programs.

The safest way to protect from a computer failure is to create a system image onto either DVDs or an external HDD and the means to recover from them.

I use an external HDD and use the free version of Macrium Reflect to recover with should I ever need it.

For DVDs you would create a System Recovery disk which you can do from within Windows.

This is a bootable disk.

Some years ago I was on an electronics course and there was a guy on it who decided to build his own computer.
.
When he was done, he found that a pre-built one would have been fractionally cheaper.

Fair enough, you may not be able to find one with the same specs as you want but the manufactures seem to know what they are doing.

It could be a case of shopping around until you find one with specs you would be happy with and compare the price of that with the cost of building your own.

Some years ago my brother built his own pc - not for financial reasons but just for the fun of doing it.

He'd been into electronics when he served in the RAF.

I'd forgotten about the Crucial Scanner - memory not the best these days.

I ran it on my newish HP laptop and I got the same message as you in that it couldn't find my system.

I don't remember the post but if you Google the title of your thread, you will be presented with a number of articles which should give you the info you require.

I can no longer contact Shane as he has appeared to have blocked the email I used to contact him on.

Can you boot up with your install disk, select Repair your computer and navigate to the Command Prompt and enter these cmds -

bcdedit |find "osdevice" then using your partition letter instead of the X I have exampled, enter this cmd -

For clarity that is a Pipe symbol before find and is the upper case of \

sfc /scannow /offbootdir=X:\ /offwindir=X:\Windows

When complete, remove the install disk and reboot.

Go Start - type cmd - right click on cmd and select Run as administrator and enter sfc /scannow

That should hopefully report no integrity violations but let me know if it reports anything different.

You may need to perform another repair install if things still don't work.

Tweaking.com Support & Help / Re: Registry Compressor Win11?
« on: September 10, 2022, 01:18:53 am »
Registry compression is but not necessary optional in both Win 10 and 11.

I use the free version of CCleaner to keep my registry trim and use it after updates and each session.

If you haven't made a note of the product key then in Frequently Asked Questions you will find under had tey -

Enter the email address used to purchase the program at https://resend.tweaking.com.

I think if you had reinstalled it on top of your existing install it would have recognized you had the Pro version.

Can you try reinstalling the program to check if that resolves and if not, see if you can access the program after booting into Safe Mode with Networking.

I haven't had a chance to check it on my Win 7 yet but in Win 11 it puts it into C:\Documents/Windows Files x86

However, I'm using v4.13.0 so couldn't say if it would be any different with an earlier version.

Perhaps it could have been because of an update, but glad you got it sorted. :)

You could try Googling to see if there are any suggestions for upgrading your machine but I think HP or a reputable repair shop would be best.

I don't know if Elite have a forum of their own where someone who has already done this could advise you.

23
I would suggest you contact HP or a reputable computer repair shop.

We don't do hardware on this forum.

I have two Toshiba laptops updated to Win 10 but neither of them is Win 11 compatible - probably because of their age, so I had to buy a new Win 10 laptop that was upgradable to Win 11.

At the time I bought it, Win 11 laptops weren't available.

Tweaking.com Support & Help / Re: Tweaking.Com Social Media Links
« on: July 29, 2022, 07:59:04 am »
TL;DR: Profile headers on the official apps have a new look. You can add up to 5 social links to your profile (but you don't have to if you don't want to). We're still rolling out the feature, so if you haven't gotten access to it yet, you will over the next few weeks.

I don't know where you got the info from that Tweaking.com is still rolling out this feature as you have nothing to do with the site admins.

I've deleted your duplicated post but will leave this one and members can make up their own minds as to the validity of the info in your post.
