Can you boot into Safe Mode then go Start - type  rstrui.exe and press enter when it comes up.

This will open Windows Restore for you to select an appropriate restore point.

My Win 10 doesn't create many restore points but it sometimes gives me an option to show more restore points.

I think you also need to check your HDD and run a system file check.

I'm assuming you are using Win 10.

Open a Command Prompt (Admin) or Powershell (Admin) and enter chkdsk /r

Follow the prompts then enter shutdown /r /t 00 to effect an immediate reboot for the cmd to execute.

When it has completed, open Event Viewer and ensure Event Viewer (Local) is highlighted in the left pane - if it isn't then just click on it.

When it has read the data - expand Windows Logs and click on Application/Action/Find and type chkdsk into the Find box and press enter.

Cancel the Find box and read the report in the pane below.

Primarily you are looking to see if it reports any KBs in bad sectors.

If it does then you will need to immediately create a system image onto external media in preparation for full HDD failure.

If the chkdsk comes back clean then open a Command Prompt (Admin) or Powershell (Admin) and enter these cmds which will take some time to run.

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

sfc /scannow

Enter exit to close the cmd window and let me know what either cmd reports and if they have resolved the problems.

I've replied to you here rather than by private message as this reply could help others should they end up with the same problem.

I have asked Shane to reply in the thread but not sure when the reply will come as I also linked another thread for him to look at.

Hopefully he will be looking at both but if I don't see or get a reply in a week, I'll email him again.

He is very busy as he also has a computer repair business to run.

I've done repair installs on my Win 10 and it has never affected my personal stuff, although I did back it up.

It's probably advisable for you to do the same given that you have sensitive material on your machine.

So how did you get on ?

WR needs access to the Internet for it to complete some repairs.

Can you try resetting the router by pressing something like a straightened paper clip for about 30secs into the hole on the rear of the router.

The hole may be marked Reset and you may have to hold the paper clip in longer than 30secs for the router lights to go out.

A darning needle works equally as well.

These are some cmds you can also try which may resolve your connectivity issues.

Create a restore point then at a Command Prompt (Admin) or Powershell admin enter these cmds -

netcfg -d

This cmd will reset your network adapters.

shutdown /r /t 00

Then see what things are like after the reboot - you may have to click on the wifi icon to manually connect your SSID.

These cmds can also help with connectivity -

netsh winsock reset

netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt

ipconfig /release

ipconfig /renew

ipconfig /flushdns

ipconfig /registerdns

shutdown /r /t 00

You could also see if there's a driver update for your wireless adapter.

Windows Firewall kicks in Safe Mode with Networking which may exacerbate the Access Denied, so you may have to White list WR -

I haven't seen Opzione1 and Opzione2.

Mine defaults to English as I'm in the UK but I changed the language to Italian and it immediately changed to that language and stayed there.

Have you tried reinstalling the program ?

Yes, I got the same error when I pasted that cmd.

This article has some steps which may help repair/reinstall the MS Store.

It has a variation of that cmd which also produced the same error, but resetting the Store as it suggests may fix.

You may need to perform a repair install but open a Command Prompt (Admin) or Powershell (Admin) and copy & paste this cmd to the prompt to reinstall the Store -

Get-AppxPackage -allusers *WindowsStore* | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register ?$($_.InstallLocation)\\AppXManifest.xml?}

I assume you have performed an antimalware scan ?

To perform a repair install you will need Win 10 install media which you can create after reading -

You will need an USB of at least 8GB.

When you have created it, open File Explorer then double click on its drive which will open to its files where you would then double click on setup Application.

This won't affect your personal files but will remove all 3rd party programs which you will need to reinstall.

I passed a link to your thread to Shane but didn't get a reply.

You can still select your language after installation - perhaps Shane considers that is all that is necessary.

Glad to see that you are mostly satisfied.

As for your files, WR may have defaulted the settings.

On testing previous versions of the program, after the reboot I could get up to 14 of there was a problem with a particular app and it was reassigned to something else.

However, I would restore with the system image I created before running the program.

That doesn't happen with 4.11.4 - I have yet to test run 4.11.5.

Good for you.

I've attached my log from when I ran WR on this machine and you will see I got similar results.

I see a lot of Access denied items scrolling down the screen but they are too fast to read.

In Safe Mode with Networking, Win 8.1 and Win 10 disable wireless but you can manually reconnect by clicking on your wifi icon then on your SSID and select Connect.

Left click away and that will close that pane where you see a full wifi icon.

Losing wifi could because of interference from other local users and changing the channel in the router can resolve that.

Details for logging into the router should be on its rear.

This program will show which channel you are using and using the Link score will help you find the best channel.

When the right pane populates, click on NETWORKS and it will advise you which channel to change to for best results.

Most routers channel settings are set to Automatic so it could drop you onto any channel.

I assume you are using Win 10 so open either a Command Prompt (Admin) or Powershell (Admin) and enter these cmds and then run WR again to see if you get the same type of logs.

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

sfc /scannow

Enter exit to close the cmd window.

You can manually remove temp files prior to running WR and that is to go Start - type %temp% and press enter.

If that is highly populated then press CTRL and a together to highlight then CTRL and d together to delete.

You will need to empty the Recycle Bin afterwards.

BTW - why do you need to remove the laptop battery to boot into Safe Mode with Networking, or did I misunderstand you ?

When I ran the Pro version on my Win 10 laptop, I got an error in that section but it was for source files not found.

I do initially get an access denied in the Network repair as you do but it also goes on to successful repair.

I also get an access denied in the Windows Updates section.

The default setting for Volume Shadow Copy is Manual but not Started.

As yours is showing as Started then the registry backup program could be using it or Windows could be creating a restore point.

No conflict.

How have you set the schedule for the back up to make them ?

I just occasionally create system images onto external media.

You could be right as you got the black flashing screen before disabling the Intel graphics.

On two of my Toshiba laptops while you can't see the CMOS battery, you can see the pins to short out after removing the RAM modules.

Perhaps yours is similar in that context, but it has to have a CMOS battery fitted to retain the BIOS settings.

Let's hope he comes back with favourable reply.

Will resetting the BIOS get his Intel main graphics back ?

The hardware issue is that he disabled his main Intel graphics.

I'm trying to get him into Safe Mode from a blank screen.

That could be worth a try but I'm not familiar with using a VGA cable - I've only ever used laptops.

The only way I could assimilate your problem would be to disable my Intel graphics which I'm loathe to do should I just end up with a black screen and not be able to get back in.

Switching on and powering down should be done consecutively while Windows is starting to see if you get the Automated Repair screen.

Do that twice and the Automated Repair screen should come up when you switch on the third time.

You may have to repeat that process and power shut down three times for the Automated Repair screen to come up when you switch on the 4th time.

It does it after power shutting down just twice for me.

If you get that screen it will go onto diagnosing your pc then attempting repairs which can take a while.

The machine eventually booted Windows but I'm not sure what you will get with not having any main graphics.

I don't know what you are using to post on but if you have access to another computer, you could create a Hiren's Boot disk to see if that can find a way to boot up with your onboard VGA graphics.
