General Computer Support / what is the use of nslookup and how to use it to know the inner dns details

Hi, Ipconfig lists the default gateway and subnet mask. But what should be done to know the inner address of the gateway, sub gateway etc of the ISP.
              to put it simply, how to know the inner dns address of the router. I forgot the admin user and password. what this nslookup do. If i use the command at cmd, it lists unknown and give my router page ip correctly. Is there any problem . How to rectify this error server unknown, and gives the correct ip of my ISP gaeway

                    Surfing the net does not solve the problem as trying of commands give error syntax errors. Plwase say, how to accomplish this in command prompt. you would have made some commands and the result entries would have shown something. I want all the contents , scrolled and available to be copied to a text file in command prompts

General Computer Support / video and audio out of sync in a particular website

Hi, Normally latest adobe flash player will play streaming videos or saved streaming videos from websites to play clearly.All other sites do not have any problem in playing video correctly. But this particular website, plays video, but there appears to be out of sync with video and audio. These could not be played by another player in our browsers.
                    I tried the hotstar site, which allows you to view saved tv shows. I am having 8mpbs speed with my new plan. But still this problem exist. i tried so much fixes and changed dns to local place from google dns, but still the problem is there. The video is playing as if it is gripped and released. Audio no problem.
                                 I am having the latest drivers, and there is no problem in playing you tube or other site videos, like zee tv shows. There it plays perfectly.
                                 Sometimes, i could see buffering with this speed on this specific site. I contacted but they could not give a correct fix

Hi,
              I have updated the drivers and one among them being universal serial bus controllers. The device description is in foreign or unknown language , but the provider is said to be NEC. Please say, whether i have to roll back the drivers. Before , i was having the lesser version and now, the higher version.

General Computer Support / why some programs run in compatibility mode, when i have not selected?

Of course, i do accept, when a program was not properly installed and microsoft alerts to run the program in the best mode, say xp sp3 mode for some of the programs to work in windows 7. But when i installed malware bytes, and installed and run it, it does not alert any compatibility, but it is showing as running in compatible mode when checking with check tool by malware bytes. It does show in app compatibility flags settings in the registry. I just enclose the same part as extract from their scan program checkdetails. txt.
                               Why? Is the machine auto changes to compatible mode? Or is there anything more to it? I have downloaded the malware bytes from their site

General Computer Support / will installation from usb slow in start in starting windows bar moving

Hi, I have succeeded in trying to boot from USB, which i have done thro , normal method. I then downloaded plpbt.iso, as my machine does not have readymade pendrive boot option in bios. I just burnt the iso in imgburn and succeeded in booting from the usb.
             But the initial bar moving was somewhat slow than normal , but it slowly comes to the install window stage. I just quit there. But i want to know, whether formatting my usb with fat 32 is the reason for slow booting. Should i format the usb with ntfs, normally supports older bios . Or is it because, i have formatted using quick switch in command prompt.
                Would the same be in all the screen that will follow. How to check, without totally uninstalling the present system.
                   or would it be some other problem. Normally the white bar moves swiftly to the next install screen. Pl

General Computer Support / Is there any software that exclusively check the dvd drive and not media disk

Hi,
                 When i try to copy the contents of the dvd file, i come across crc, circular redundancy check error 23, saying cannot read from source file or disk. I thought it would be a problematic disc and replaces with another media disc. CrC error repeated. I then tried copy thro command prompt robocopy. But it also list the same error listing that and trying to copy the same file again and again.
                         I know the nero disc speed and other utitlities that do the surface scan on the disk. Is there any program , that would check the disk drive, i mean here dvd drive. If so, i could check whether my dvd drive is working full functional.
Numorous software for retrieving the data from disc. But is there any program that would scan the drive for errors of the dvd drive without the disc being inserted.
                            i could not do chkdsk for this volume thro command prompt.

General Computer Support / cdcopy by nero copies correctly, but when try to copy the same, i get error

Hi,
                   When i copy using cdcopy a OS it copies without fail. But , when i try the same thro usb, after making it bootable, the copying of files stops at install.wim, giving me error. cannot read the source file or disk. Cyclic redundancy error no. 23.
I thought it as a dvd disc failure , but it is not.
                        I scanned the pc with sfc /scannow, no integrity violations. I ran chkdsk /f/r. But still this error comes. When i just copy using cdcopy, it just copies fine, without altering the format etc.
                          But , when i insert a blank disc and then click the cd drive in windows 7, i get two options to select and if i select the cd dvd option, the bottom one, the file changes it format to udf and if i use cdcopy, then it writes without fail, but after writing, it also writes short lead to 100 percent. What is it? Why this occurs.
                           But if i just supply the disc after creating image, then it does not do any thing like that.
                              If chkdsk /f or sfc could not fix, then what could be done.
                                Howto check for this error bug

General Computer Support / BSOD and restart , when i play a movie file in vlc

Hi,
              When i play a movie file from dvd disc with vlc media player , all of a sudden, the computer crashed and rebooted automatically showing that windows recovered from unexpected problem and the code is shown as 1000007f.
                            i went to minidump files , but could not open to see what is the bug.
Then i downloaded nirsoft utility bsod view and then i could saw the three minidump files thro it. It all pointed to the intel graphics driver and also list out the stage, all the processes everything, when the crash occurred. I could not go beyond this.
                       would somebody say what the dump log tells. Which i should do to correct the error. as normally windows tries to reboot successfully after each attempt to play the file. it is a vob file of a old movie.
                     I also notice a green bar like thing while playing thro the vlc medai player. I uninstalled and reinstalled . pl give solution

The idea of enabling the verify the authentication of sender in Lab tab in gmail settings is said to block receiving the non authenticate emails , the email with ?red question mark at the senders address? Is it advisable to enable it?. I enabled it as a measure to not receive any spam or hackers message from some of the sites, for which i have become a member, like say, a matrimony site. Recently i received an alert to change the password for the site, as somebody could steal the personal information , and says he is while hacker. I just did nothing. Till now, nothing happens. But receiving this kind of hack alert from ? mark emails , i think is a security lapse. I searched and found this

General Computer Support / How to schedule mbam.exe to run on every start up

Hi,
                Using task scheduler, i could make the program start and it shows in running stage, code 2670009. But , what i want is to execute the program mbam.exe at start up. I am failing in this with possible error codes 1. If the task has been run, i should get 0 as Last Run Code. I checked the last run activity code in nirsoft utility.
                 what i want is , to run , the mbam.exe at start. Please say, I have given some name and in actions , selected by browsing mbam.exe in my computer path and then make it to run on every start up. whenever, i tried with nirsoft tool, i get the code, which states that the exe is running. I could also see the process in process tab in task manager. But , what i want is, it should exe, by opening the program, when we double click it. I think, giving the path of exe would be enough , if the program has to start.
                             I know that it is running , but it did not show any opening in my desktop pl
the command line parameters do not work in latest editions of mb

Hi,
                     Once when i opened my gmail account, i have imported all yahoo mails to gmail by adopting imap and pop settings in gmail. I remember that it was enabled by me.
                         the exact incident: i once tried outlook from other client to send a message without knowing that i will loose all the yahoo mails to outlook.
                             To retrieve those emails , i opened an account in gmail and retrieved all the messages from outlook to gmail and i labelled it.
                                Now to continue receiving yahoo mails in my gmail, i have made imap and pop settings.
                                So any mail addressed to my son ymail is automatically forwarded to gmail and there is no problem .It has been since 2009. But i just went to the same settings and found pop and imap enabled from those date. But, i do not know , how to see that details of the emails included in the settings, like mails from yahoo. etc. How to check for those details.

General Computer Support / how to stop receiving unauthenticated mails from a person or website

Hi,
                I have registered to a matrimonial site, from which i have received a security alert from a white hacker to change the password for the site, as he could easily steal my data . I have received a ? mark in all the emails sent by them. I have checked the whois, and came to know that server is godaddy. I do not know, whether the site owner knows . But the name of the registration was in the content of email from that white hacker or team.
                    i have enabled mail security in avast, but somehow, this mail was not filtered or i think that only paid version would do that correctly.
                     Now, my point is , should i inform the site about this in first place?
                           Secondly, i could access the gmail without any access problem.
                              How to stop receiving this kind of unauthenticated emails from any body in gmail.
                                  filtering would help in some form. But i want to stoop all emails unauthenticated. how to do in gmail? I hope some one would answer

               I just typed offline install of windows and i got this link

                    The latest version printed could not be located there. I had not attempted this. Some persons who has to reinstall windows, would have known something about this update. Is this possible. I just clicked one last version and it contains mere a 2 m.b.
                          Each wu contains more than this size. So, i am a bit confused how could this offline installer would update. Is it possible and is it feasible.
                            I have read in somewhere in my thread about boggins, recommendation of update in simple manner, without have to install all updates at the same time. But could not remember the thread.
                                Please let me know how to update to control the download of updates so that i could update gradually.
                                     Of late, i am receiving some weird mails so thinking of updating...
                                   My system is having windows 7 ultimate 32 bit.

Hi, It is a free site for downloading videos and i have not signed up . It is free for all. I used to download old videos and there was no problem in downloading. But when i accessed the site, there was the message , i mentioned in the topic. what that means. I do not have static ip, and even when i accessed the site remains the same.
                                How to overcome? what that message means. I did not signup for the site. Is there any clue

i do not have share and pim tab as shown in the tutorial. Moreover the file size is 36 mb, which could not be saved in phone memory which is less in older model nokia phones.

General Computer Support / individual file scan , opens full scan menu in malware bytes?

Hi,
                     Normally when you download a file and want it be scanned, it should only be scanning that file. The malware bytes, if i right click and select menu it opens the whole scan screen.
                          i tried umpteen times of uninstalling and re installing, nothing cured. If i opt for avast, it scans single file. Do any of you experience this phenomenon. What is the best fix.
                                i have asked the forum, and they asked me to uninstall and reinstall and some reg fix, The reg.fix worked one time, but again when i selected a file then it opens the whole scan, like updating, prescan, scan files, heuristic etc etc.
Is there any fix. I am using latest free malware bytes .

Hi, Came across so many articles that it is the site owner, who assigns https to the site to become secured. Is it for cost or free. If it is free, why this site could not be made as https. I want to know , what is the real difference between these two http and https, and why some sites are only having http and some others having https. For example , some other forum is having https.
Does that mean that those sites are fully security proof, where as http sites are that much not protected. pl
If it is for cost, then ignore this query

Boggins, samson, julian and the other administrators are all giving their best. But Shane's presence at least once in month would give this forum a much needed filip.

General Computer Support / pdf converter fails to convert regional language docx properly,

Hi, I downloaded a free pdf converter and tried to convert pdf to docx . In english, there is no problem as it exactly converts. But when i try the same with my regional language , tamil, it converts, but the conversion is not readable. The conversion is like a machine language. I went to pdf adobe reader to note the font and downloaded the same . But , on converting, the conversion is not proper.
                       Do you have any solution? When a font is installed in font folder, the conversion should be proper as in english. Is there bug in program or my doing any incorrect operation? Would you try in your language and give me the feed back, whether it corrects correctly.

Hi, Now i am using nokia older music model which does not have internet facility . I was content with this one for long time as it works very fine for its purpose, for talking , sms etc

                       Now, i plan to change to newer mobile. I had some ideas on andriod and windows phone.
But i did not have any chance to use windows phone. Is it like windows, where you could execute the exe files and all that? Or in otherwords, whatever could be accomplished in computer could be used by it. Is my supposition is correct?
                            Now, comeback to android, the files are all in apk form and not in exe form. So , exe would not work there, but exe files made for mobile in apk format would be executable and usable.
                                If i use android mobile , i could not exe anything other than apk. If in windows, i could execute , except apk files.
                               Woud somebody advise me which is best to choose for all purpose and security..
                                 Android apps are many but there compromising on phone data are also many.

General Computer Support / Changing of hosts file for a website, pl advise

Hi,
I had the problem of redirecting randomly to my service provider mail service , i mean randomly, . I asked for solution and nothing worked. I changed the Dns to google and OPen dns. The problem continued.
As per some suggestions found in the websites, i just added these websites, with the hosts file and took care to rename the original hosts file in c:windows\system32\drivers\etc.
I renamed the original as .bak file and copied the one to desktop , made those additions and again copied the same to the directory i mentioned above.
Now the problem seems to be not occuring.
My question is , is changing the hosts file risky. The annoyance of the site was experienced when i click a reply to be sent to some forum etc. The redirection would completely close the reply session and i could not find my typed words. Sometimes , it will not load, but after few seconds the redirection would go to the mail website.
Can i expect, a word from you , friends
I just added 127.0.0.1 name of the website, without www in the first line and withwww in the second line
PS: i would love to know, how the problem resolved the technical details about this 127 and the change i made. I just did as was in the net page

Hi, My son was  using the computer , when suddenly desktop changes to a kind of big icons display and weird slope in windows explorer as well as browser. When i click any thing the close red x does not display at th top right, instead the browser display to 80 percent of screen leaving some gap in the top. Moreover the  tray icon bar has some what become bigger in size.
              what is the problem and give the cure immediately pl
